Our Window-Ledge Visitor

Last week, on a dark and rainy night, we had a visitor. It seemed apparent that he was homeless, and my heart went out to him. Instead of ringing the doorbell, he managed to balance himself on our window ledge, vocally announcing his presence. I tried to invite him in, but he seemed frightened and refused.

He did agree to stay for dinner, however, but insisted that he eat on the ledge.

After 3 days of living on our window ledge, I managed to coax him inside. He was very frightened at first, but soon warmed up to us. A trip to the vet revealed that he is a healthy little guy with (treatable) ear mites and a slight eye infection. He went about a week without a name.

But now, meet Tiger:

Tidbit likes him, too.

The bad news is that one of my sons is very allergic to cats, so I’m trying to find sweet little Tiger a new home. If he stays with us, he will have to be mostly an outdoor cat, which would make me sad because he is such a cuddlebug.

My babies are about to turn 14. Some of you might remember a few posts ago that I finally had to paint over their jungle and space rooms.

But just how do you decorate rooms for teenage boys?? I really couldn’t find any suitable bedding in the stores, so here is my solution… T-shirt quilts! This was such a fun project, and not nearly as difficult as I imagined. All you need are lots of T-shirts, some border fabric, batting, and a sheet for backing.

So, TA-DA!! Here they are:

Ok, I’m bragging. I can’t help it. If you’ve ever been to my website, you’ve seen my fabulous Bentley Drinkware. It is manufactured by my BIL and SIL, Ted and Mary Bentley, just right down the street from me in Perryville, Arkansas.

And it is featured this month in Ty Pennington’s AT HOME magazine! Momma is proud. Click on the picture to read all about it. The article is about how to have a perfect picnic.

The first page shows an assortment of picnic items (including a plastic pitcher and tumblers) totalling $609. The second page shows a very similar assortment (including Bentley Drinkware Tumblers and Pitcher) that totals $181. And since the Bentley Boutique price of the pitcher and tumblers are even less than the magazine states, you can change that total to $172.
