Free Printable Sports Bookplates for Kids

For all of you moms with sports-minded kids, here’s a way to make their reading
more enjoyable… well, we can hope.

Right click and save to your computer. Personalize if you wish, using any print program. Print on adhesive-backed paper or 2×4? labels. Peel and stick to the inside cover of your favorite books. You can also print on plain paper, cut out, and glue to the inside of book.

Candy Bouquets for Karate Birthday Party and Teacher Gifts

My last post on the bubble gum bouquet sent me searching for photos of candy bouquets that I made a few years ago. Just wanted to show you that you can customize them for any occassion.

First up is a sucker bouquet, made for a first grade teacher. The flowers were printed on the computer, laminated, and cut out. I cut out the faces from photos, using a circle cutter, and glued them to the flowers. Hiding behind each flower is a sucker. I used a recycled small coffee can for the base.

Second up is a candy bouquet that I made for my sons’ karate instructors. It was part of their birthday karate party when they were 7 years old. (That’s a whole ‘nother post full of birthday ideas… will get to that later).

The base is a recycled can wrapped in white fabric and tied with a black felt belt. The candy consists of mini hershey bars wrapped in karate themed wrappers, as well as some suckers with karate clip art in front. Green cellophane is sprinkled in for color.

What a great way to start the weekend. I won a contest that I didn’t even know I entered! Tracy at Craft Junkie Too had a drawing that was dedicated to those who follow her blog, so as one of her followers, I was automatically entered.

I won this fabulous Bind It All Book that she made. Since I am a craft junkie myself, I totally appreciate anything handmade, because I know how much time, effort, and creativity goes into making it. Turn Dad into a Cartoon for Father’s Day

Can you believe it’s almost time for Father’s Day?? You want to show your love and appreciation.. but sometimes Dear ‘ol Dad can be a challenging one to buy for! After all, he has everything and doesn’t seem to want anything else, right?

OK, here is one thing he probably doesn’t have — a cartoon of himself, personalized especially for him. It could be his favorite sport or hobby, or maybe even his profession. There are over 900 to choose from at Bentley Boutique, but here are a few ideas to get you started. His favorite sport, his hobby or interest. or even his profession could be made into a cartoon.

After you choose which cartoon to use, then you get to decide on the personalization. Be creative… you can say anything you like!

Next, decide how to present the cartoon… choices include matted prints, framed prints, deskclocks, snowglobes, mousepads, and paper weights.

School’s Almost Out — It’s Time to Think About Teacher Gifts!

Why not get crafty and make her some notecards? It’s fairly easy to do, and you can personalize them, making them even more special. The basic steps are as follows:

Cut 8 1/2 x 11″cardstock in half.
Make a 8.5 x5.5 layout, using any print program, or even microsoft word.
Personalize it with cute clipart and fonts. Many software programs have pre-made layouts and designs that you can use, if you need a little creative help! Several suggestions are to the right in the sidebar.
Print the cards.
Fold the cards in half.
You can even make matching envelopes if you like. Just make a layout for the size of the envelope, add clipart, and print the envelopes according to your printer’s directions. I like to make the clipart on the envelopes somewhat transparent. I use PAINT SHOP PRO PHOTO X2.

Scroll down for a free printable teachers card and envelope! Below are a few teacher cards that I made when my boys were younger. They seemed to be a big hit with the teachers. Use them for inspiration, or if you’d rather have me do the work, you can actually order them here.

And now for a freebie! Below is a teacher notecard that you can print out. Just click on one of the thumbnails. You can choose the generic version (A Note From the Teacher), or you can take the one with the blank blackboard to any print program and add text before printing.

The 3rd thumbnail is a coordinating envelope. Just insert a notecard sized envelope (5.5x 4.25″) into your printer and print.First, click on a thumbnail, and you will be taken to the full size image in photobucket. Then right click and save to your computer, or just right click and print.
